In keeping with Governor Deal’s goal of increasing public safety through a more effective juvenile system, the Governor’s Office for Children and Families (GOCF) has made awards totaling $676,648 to eight juvenile courts serving twenty-five Georgia counties.
These awards come on the heels of the Juvenile Reform bill being signed into law by Governor Deal on May 2nd.
“We are pleased to support court projects that provide services which hold juveniles accountable for their actions while also holding our juvenile system accountable to taxpayers,” says Katie Jo Ballard, Executive Director GOCF.
Funded projects are set to begin August 1, 2013.
