The Georgia Children's Cabinet Launches Safe Sleep Campaign to Educate Parents

October 10, 2012

ATLANTA – Every other day, a healthy baby in Georgia dies. At a news conference on Tuesday, October 9th, 2012, the First Lady of Georgia, who is the Chairwoman of the Georgia Children's Cabinet, launched the Safe Sleep Campaign. This effort is joined by the Georgia Department of Public Health and the Georgia Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, who are also members of the Children's Cabinet. As a mother and grandmother, the First Lady knows the critical importance of educating all parents and caregivers of babies about SIDS and the risk factors that contribute to it. Most importantly, there are things that can be done to help prevent SIDS and sleep related risks.
