Better Brains for Babies' website provides families and professionals with current research-based information about the brain, early brain development, and its implications for children in Georgia and throughout the United States. It also provides information about practices that contribute to healthy brain development, and connects you with resources to support brain development in young children.

Committee for Children

Committee for Children is a non-profit organization that provides evidence-based emotional and social learning programs to over 7 million children in 21 countries. The Committee for Children's programs focus on teaching children from preschool through middle school about such issues such as: anger management, self control, sexual abuse, personal safety, and social skills. They seek to foster the emotional and social development, well-being, and safety of children through advocacy and education.

Twenty-four percent of parents report that their child bullies or is cruel to other children at least some of the time, and 35 percent of parents report that they are concerned about their child being bullied at school, according to the National Survey of Children's Health. Two new Child Trends briefs help youth program providers identify peer conflict and bullying and promote positive peer conflict resolution techniques.

Institute for Youth Development

IYD is a non-partisan, non-profit organization that promotes a comprehensive message to youth in the U.S. and around the world to avoid five harmful risk behaviors that are inextricably linked: alcohol, drugs, sex, tobacco and violence. IYD believes that children and teens, provided with consistent and sound messages, are capable of making the choice to avoid these risk behaviors altogether, especially if they are empowered by strong parent and family connections.
