Recent Accomplishments
- Maintained Georgia's compliance with the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act resulting in keeping Georgia eligible to receive $17,619,451 in federal juvenile justice funds over the past 5 years. Over 90% of these funds were distributed to local communities.
- Provided federal funds to Georgia juvenile justice programs, several of which were selected by the US Department of Justice for inclusion in their annual reports to Congress reflecting the efficient use of these funds by our state. The programs highlighted include: Cherokee County In-School Probation Officer Project (2007 JABG report to Congress), Carroll County Youth Connections Project (2005 Title V report to Congress), High Risk Delinquency Prevention Project (2007 Title V report to Congress).
- Developed the Georgia Juvenile Justice Data Clearinghouse providing agreed upon juvenile data elements between DJJ & Juvenile Courts as well as a public website with detailed juvenile crime data at county and state-level.

- Collaborated with the National Coalition for Juvenile Justice to issue a press release and fact sheet detailing the ineffective outcomes of Scared Straight Programming for juveniles.
- Performed a comparative analysis of Georgia statutes and federal laws as they relate to the secure detention of status offenders highlighting commonalities and differences.
