Future Funding Opportunities

Currently, the Governor’s Office for Children and Families is accepting applications for new projects for its 2012 Juvenile Accountability Block Grant Program (JABG). The goal of this funding is to address juvenile crime by encouraging accountability-based reform at the community level.

During this funding cycle, special consideration will be given to projects employing a Juvenile Drug Court model as well as projects serving Department of Juvenile Justice supervised youth who are returning home from secure confinement.

Application Due Date- March 5th 2012

Anticipated Total Available Funding- $350,000  

Estimated Award Amount- up to $75,000 per year

Length of Project Period- 1 year (with possibility of 2 additional years)

Eligible Applicants-

Applicants are limited to county and city governments in the State of Georgia. Applications for juvenile court projects should be made by county commissions/boards of commissioners on behalf of the juvenile court. Moreover, all local units of government are required to be in compliance with the Service Delivery Strategy Act in order to be eligible for state-administered financial assistance.
